22 - Le "HOW-Questions"


Le "HOW-Questions" sono tutte quelle domande che possono essere fatte utilizzando le seguenti parole:

>>> How ...?  [Quanto/Come ...?]
Per domande riguardanti il modo, la maniera.
Esempi:
How do you usually cook fish? [Di solito come (tu) cucini il pesce?]
How do you use this? [Come (tu) usi questo?]



>>> How often ...?  [Quanto spesso ...?]
Per domande riguardanti la frequenza.
Esempi:
How often do you travel by train? [Quanto spesso (tu) viaggi con il treno?]

   Ris: I travel by train four times in a week [Io viaggio con il treno quattro volte alla settimana]

How often do you go on holiday? [Quanto spesso (voi) andate in vacanza?]
   Ris: We go on holiday three times in a year [Noi andiamo in vacanza tre volte all'anno]


How often do you go to the office? [Quanto spesso (tu) vai in ufficio?]
   Ris: I go to the office every day [Io vado in ufficio ogni giorno]


Nota:
   1 X = once [una volta]
   2 X = twice [due volte]
   3 X = three times [tre volte]
   4 X = four times [quattro volte]

Nota:
   Every ... = Ogni ...
   Every day = Ogni giorno
   Every week = Ogni settimana
   Every year = Ogni anno



>>> How times ...?  [Quante volte ...?]
Per domande riguardanti il numero di volte.
Esempio:
How times do you watch the TV in a week? [Quante volte (tu) guardi la TV in una settimana?]
   Ris. 1:
Twice! [Due volte!]
   Ris. 2:
I watch the TV twice in a week [Io guardo la TV due volte alla settimana]



>>> How [Aggettivo] ...?  [Quanto [Aggettivo] ...?]
Per domande riguardanti un aggettivo.
Esempi:
How long is it?
[Quanto lungo è (esso)]
  Ris: It's 3 meters [(Esso è) 3 metri]

How wide is it? [Quanto largo è (esso)]
  Ris: It's 2 meters [(Esso è) 2 metri]

How high is it? [Quanto alto è (esso)]
  Ris: It's 3 meters [(Esso è) 3 metri]

How fast is it? [Quanto veloce è (esso)]
  Ris: It's 100 km/h [(Esso è) 100 km/h]

How heavy is it? [Quanto pesante è (esso)]
  Ris: It's 50 kg [(Esso è) 50 kg]

How far is it? [Quanto lontano è (esso)]
  Ris: It's 10 km [(Esso è) 10 km]




>>> How much ...?  [Quanto ...?]
        (per "quantità NON Numerabili": es: water [acqua], tourism [turismo])

>>>
How many ...?  [Quanto ...?]
        (per "quantità Numerabili": es: tourists [turisti], pens [penne], books [libri])

Per domande riguardanti la quantità.
Esempi:
How much water is there? [Quanta acqua c'è?]
   Ris. 1:
There is a lot of water [C'è molta acqua]
   Ris. 2:
There isn't much water [Non c'è molta acqua]
   Ris. 3:
There's only a little water [C'è solo un po' d'acqua]
   Ris. 4:
There is no water [Non c'è acqua]
   Ris. 5:
There isn't water [Non c'è acqua]

How much tourism is there? [Quanto turismo c'è?]

How many pens are there? [Quante penne ci sono?]
   Ris. 1:
There are 3 pens [Ci sono 3 penne]
   Ris. 2:
There are a lot of pens [Ci sono molte penne]
   Ris. 3:
There aren't many pens [Non ci sono molte penne]
   Ris. 4:
There're only a few pens [Ci sono solo poche penne]
   Ris. 5:
There are no pens [Non ci sono penne]
   Ris. 6:
There aren't pens [Non ci sono penne]

How many books are there? [Quanti libri ci sono?]



>>> How much is it?  [Quanto costa (esso)?]
Per domande riguardanti il costo.
Esempi:
How much is it? [Quanto costa (esso)?]
  Ris:
It's 20 dollars [20 dollari]

How much does it cost? [Quanto costa (esso)?]
  Ris: It costs 25 dollars [(Esso) costa 25 dollari]

How much are they? [Quanto costano (essi)?]
  Ris: The red ones is 10 dollars and the blue ones is 20 dollars [Il rosso 10 dollari e il blu 20 dollari]

How much is this? [Quanto costa questo?]
How much is that? [Quanto costa quello?]


It costs 30 dollars [(Esso) costa 30 dollari]
  Ris. 1: It's too expensive! [(Esso) è troppo costoso!]
  Ris. 2: It's quite cheap [(Esso) è abbastanza economico]
